Oyster Coast Watersports delivers RYA courses with a small group of friendly, very keen and professional RYA instructors, providing high quality courses for the novice through to the more experienced person.
We deliver courses as an RYA Recognised Training Centre, awarding RYA certificates to successful candidates, who achieve the required standard, at the end of all RYA courses.
Oyster Coast Watersports operates from the popular town of Whitstable on the North Kent coast. The Thames Estuary provides some challenging boating, not only will you learn great seamanship skills but you will advance your sailing and power boating skills in a beautiful part of the South East.
We are an enthusiastic crowd, and have a large amount of kit, on hand. We run numerous courses and are often over subscribed, so please do not leave this to the last minute to book up.
OCW is a Royal Yachting Association, Recognised Training Centre and Association of Surfing Instructors Accredited Stand Up Paddleboard School located in the picturesque Kent coastal town of Whitstable. We deliver RYA Theory and both RYA on the North Kent Coastline with access to the Thames and Swale Estuaries.
We were Founded in February 2009 but had achieved RYA Accreditation about 18 months prior to this. Principally we seek to assist 2nd Whitstable Sea Scouts to provide a variety of water activities with the opportunity of selling surplus capacity to other young people and Adults.
Since our inception we have steadily grown to provide an ever increasing range of Disciplines. We have been privileged to be able to deliver our courses to a variety of water enthusiasts with some excellent reviews and feedback. We seek to continue our relationship with the Scout Association and trust that we will be able to support more Young People on their journey through the Scout Programme.

Neill was in the Royal Navy as an Aircraft Engineer for 9 years and since leaving has had his own business servicing and selling Marine and Agricultural machinery. He locally Skippers a High Speed Crew Transfer Vessel for the wind farm industry. He is actively involved in a number of water sports and teaches several water activities.
He frequently travels around the world to deliver Royal Yachting Association training to the Super yacht Industry. Neill is a Powerboat and PWC Trainer as well as being a Yachtmaster Instructor and Examiner. Neill is also UK Technical Adviser to the Scout Association for Power boating and PWCs.
He is often found teaching on the beach at Whitstable as well as delivering a number of theory courses in the classroom.
Mark is a keen Kite surfer and when he is not teaching can be found encouraging people to undertake a variety of watersports. Mark is a local businessman and has spent many years in Whitstable on the Long Beach and understands the local conditions better than most. He is a keen Yacht Sailor and often spends time gaining hands on sailing time as he is has rescently become a sailing Yachtmaster. He is a Powerboatlevel 2 and a power boat advanced instructor as well as a PWC instructor,
